How I Brewed It

Boiling for 2-3mins as instructed.

From my original Amazon review:

I was hoping for a refreshing and fruity take on rooibos, but unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. The description sounds appealing, but the reality doesn't live up to it.

The most striking thing upon opening the pouch is the extremely strong aroma, heavily dominated by coconut and vanilla. While not unpleasant in itself, this powerful scent creates a significant expectation for the flavour. Sadly, this is where the main problem lies: the taste doesn't match the smell.

Brewing as recommended (boiling water for 2-3 minutes) yields a tea where the flavour is surprisingly muted and somewhat muddled compared to the intense aroma. What comes through is mostly a vague, fruitiness (likely the pineapple) with only a very faint hint of the rooibos base detectable right at the end. The strong coconut and vanilla promise from the scent just doesn't translate effectively into the taste, it's really jarring.

Brewing it hot clearly releases oils from the desiccated coconut. I found a noticeable, distinct coating left on my metal strainer after infusion. While perhaps expected given the ingredients, it's an undesirable quality in a tea for me and contributes to the feeling that the blend isn't quite right.

This is what I meant by "flavour noise." There are many ingredients listed (coconut, apple, rosehip, pineapple, lime, orange, vanilla), but the result isn't a harmonious tropical profile. It feels like many components get lost, and you could probably remove half the ingredients without significantly changing the indistinct fruity-sweet outcome. It fails to deliver either a satisfying rooibos character or a clear, vibrant fruit tea experience.

The tagline "mouth-watering" feels rather ironic in hindsight. Definitely not for me, 2 stars only because I can see some people actually like this, otherwise a huge no from me. I was planning to try their other blends but after this, I think I'll pass altogether.
