🏪 Where I Got It
Updated Conclusion:
Okay, final thoughts on the £55 Chill Tea Tokyo Gift Box with the Sencha Midori and Kabusecha Hikari. It essentially lets you sample two teas from their 'Exclusive and Rare Tea Series,' both grown high up in Shizuoka by Mr. Mori. Trying them together was interesting, and while I enjoyed both, they offered pretty different experiences. The quality certainly seems to be there in both.
However, the experience comes with a significant caveat: the price. While the quality is undeniable, the £55 price tag positions these teas firmly in the luxury category. This contrasts sharply with descriptions suggesting the Sencha Midori could be an everyday tea; at this cost, it feels far more like a special occasion indulgence. Honestly, each brewing session carries a certain weight, prompting constant thoughts about achieving the perfect infusion so as not to feel wasteful. It inevitably makes you wonder how much of the cost reflects the tea leaf itself versus import expenses and branding efforts.
Despite this price sensitivity, if you are genuinely curious about trying both the Sencha Midori and Kabusecha Hikari, this gift set is almost certainly the more economical route compared to purchasing them individually. For providing convenient access to these interesting, high-end teas side-by-side, and for the quality presented, I rate the gift box itself 4 out of 5 stars. The deduction purely reflects the premium pricing, which makes these teas less accessible for regular enjoyment and impacts the overall value perception.
Would I personally repurchase this set or the individual teas? Given the cost and the fact that while impressive, they didn't become absolute favourites for my palate, probably not. However, it was definitely a worthwhile and educational experience, letting me try both for the first time; a premium Sencha and a premium Kabusecha.

Bought this gift box 2 weeks ago, very excited to try it soon, very expensive too. It was cheaper to buy the gift box than the 2 seperately, so I went for that. More interested in the Kabusecha personally, since I've never had it before and this was a Nihoncha award winner, so expectations are through the roof.
They are supposed to be brewed quite differently though, so I'll have to be careful, can't experiment too much when it's that expensive. Both container comes with their own instructions on how to brew and the leaves are vacuum sealed. Will do the Sencha "Midori" first tomorrow!
