Flavour Profile
How I Brewed It
80C for 5 mins, then 95C.
And so we reach the final day. The last cup is intriguing: "Unitea," described as a blend of Assam and Darjeeling teas. Opening the packet, I noticed some golden tips mixed in again, hinting at potentially higher quality components...It's alright.
_______
The most interesting from this tea was how subtle the bitterness is, even on that second, high-temperature infusion. It just didn't get harsh or aggressive, which was a pleasant surprise.
Taste-wise, it presented a profile that felt distinctly different from the previous teas. On the 80C infusion, it was really subtle and has an almost oolong like to it for me.
The dominant note for me was still maltiness, likely from the Assam base, but it wasn't overpowering. There was also a detectable sweetness weaving through it. The combination of noticeable malt, gentle sweetness, and that surprisingly low bitterness made for a relatively smooth and balanced cup. It didn't have a super strong aroma or any standout complex notes jumping out, but the overall effect was pleasant and subtly different.
It definitely feels like the sort of tea you don't have to feel picky about and can drink whenever (easy-drinking tag maybe?).
